Mackenzie Pollock, Director
Mackenzie Pollock is beginning her third year as a choral director. Mrs. Pollock holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, summa cum laude, from Tarleton State University. Professionally, Mrs. Pollock has been accompanying for choirs, bands, and churches across the Texas for over 16 years. She has also worked with Broadway actor and actress Chuck Wagner and Andrea Rivette. Mrs. Pollock maintains active membership in the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Choral Directors Association. Mrs. Pollock is an alumnus of Kappa Kappa Psi and Mu Phi Epsilon. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, painting, and reading. Mrs. Pollock resides in the Fort Worth area with her husband John and her cats, Sokka, Wrynn, and Link. |
Quanzhou Yan, Accompanist
Quanzhou Yan has performed in many concerts and has been giving solo recitals in many cities as well as national and international festivals. Mr. Yan won top awards in many competitions, including the first prize of the National Bakhchiyeva Piano Competition in 2013 (Russia); the first prize of the 10th “the Way to Master” International Piano Competition in 2014 (Russia); and the first prize in 2018 Semper Music International Competition (Italy). He is also the winner of the Music Teachers National Association – Steinway Young Artist Piano Competition in south central division for both 2020 and 2021. Quanzhou Yan began studying piano at age five. In 2011, he was accepted to the Central Conservatory of Music in China and the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatory in Russia. During five years of studying at the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatory, he successfully completed his Bachelor of Music degree under the studio of critically acclaimed professor, People’s artist of Russia, Rimma Skolohodova. Mr. Yan graduated with a Master of Music degree at Texas Christian University in 2018 under the guidance of esteemed pianist and pedagogue Dr. Tamás Ungár. Following graduation, he was awarded a full scholarship and decided to continue his Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance at TCU. |
